TABLE-TOP SCIENCE
A perfect option for festivals and family days where large numbers of people will be attending.
Our table-top science encounters can fit into just about any space, indoors or outdoors. They are suitable for any age group with supervision. Illustrated guides are provided for each experiment and qualified ‘explainers’ are optional.
Table-tops keep individuals or small groups entertained for between 1 and 10 minutes. There are over 25 to choose from, generally three or four experiments can be accommodated on a 1.8m trestle table.
INTERACTIVE SCIENCE SHOWS
Audience members can sit back and be amazed, or volunteer to be part of the science fun at Children’s Discovery interactive science shows. Choose from quick 5-minute demonstrations or stage shows with a duration of up to 25 minutes (other options available).
CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCES
Simulated house construction experiences where participants assume the roles of architects, interior designers, brick layers, plumbers, pavers and other construction professionals and tradespeople. Participants have a safety induction, and don hi-vis vests and hard hats before grabbing their tools and getting to work.
ELECTRONICS WORKSHOPS
MadLab is a unique, hands-on electronics workshop for children and adults. Participants learn how to safely use a soldering iron as they assemble electronic components onto specially designed circuit boards. There are more than 50 kits ranging from simple flashing lights to a programmable robot.
MadLab exposes people of all ages to interactive electronics (we recommend a minimum age of 8 years).
CREATIVE CONSTRUCTION ZONES
Participants can sit down and create a science toy, for example a kaleidoscope, balancing bird or whirligig. The activities take from 5-15 minutes are a suitable for 3-year-olds and up.
DIG EXPERIENCES
Simulated archaeological dig experiences where visitors assume the role of scientists, archaeologists, or other specialist investigators to excavate, identify, and record objects (finds) from a dig site using authentic tools and equipment.
We can create a variety of back stories for the dig site from prehistoric foundries to early settlements, and paleontological experiences.
