Fun facilitated workshops for 3-5-year-olds that introduce children to the basics of science but feel more like play than education. Suitable for libraries, preschools and childcare centres.

LITTLE BANG DISCOVERY PROGRAM

Little Bang is the flagship program of Children’s Discovery. The program consists of fun, facilitated workshops for 3-5-year-olds that introduce children to the basics of science but feel more like play than education. The program harnesses the many benefits of early childhood education and importantly engages all children before the onset of gender stereotypes.

All Little Bang workshops can be modified to suit older children, generally up to 9 years.

LITTLE BANG

An overview of the carefully researched and specifically designed play-based learning activities in the Little Bang Discovery Club.

The Little Bang Discovery Box contains materials and equipment to start your discovery journey. You can return over and over again to repeat experiments and try new ones.

COLLECTING AND CLASSIFYING

Being a junior discoverer takes some special skills: like learning how to sort and classify items from the Little Bang Discovery Box and objects surrounding you.

MEASURING

Weighing and measuring is one of the first and most important skills of science discovery. Learn about formal and informal measurement. Compare the weight of items using a balance, and make a special balance project: the ‘mobile’.

EXPERIMENTING

Ask questions and design your own experiments to find the answers. Practice measuring, observating and recordingt. Conduct experiments and understand the importance of a fair test.

SCIENCE FAIR

Put togther a series of experiments to try yourself and then invite others. In group settings you can even hold a ceremony to celebrate completion of your first Little Bang Discovery Club!

We use air every second, although we often don’t notice it. Try some air-mazing experiments while practising recording results in different ways.
