Jon Jutsen FTSE

Jon is Chair of Children’s Discovery. He is a leader in energy and carbon management having founded Energetics Pty Ltd in 1984. It remains Australia’s leading energy and climate change consultancy for business and government. Jon is also Chairman of the Australian Alliance to Save Energy. The focus of the Alliance is to double Australia’s energy productivity by 2030 (2XEP). He is a chemical engineer with a Masters in Energy Technology. He was selected as one of the ‘100 Most Influential Engineers in Australia’ and is a Fellow of the Academy of Technological Science and Engineering. He has been named as Engineer of the Year and received the Millennium Medal for his contributions to the field. Jon founded the Children’s Discovery committee and remains on the Board 20 years later.

David Cordover

David is a serial entrepreneur who launched his first business, Chess Kids, at age 16. In 2014 he founded Kids Unlimited which he scaled nationwide before a successful exit. With over 30 years’ experience in education, technology, and venture building, he now mentors and invests in early-stage founders who are on missions that matter. In his role as Director, he brings a commercial and entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for advancing the Children’s Discovery mission.

As a Mensa member, national board-game champion, and grassroots sports coach, David also provides strategic thinking, creativity, and community leadership.

Em Blamey

Em is the Creative Lead at the Australian National Maritime Museum. She relishes presenting subjects through hands-on interaction and creating exhibits that are intuitive, appealing, durable and safe. Em joined the Maritime Museum in April 2013, after 2½ years at the Australian Museum and 12 years at Questacon National Science and Technology Centre where she developed exhibitions on a range of topics including the MiniQ gallery for 0-6 year olds.

Em grew up in England, studied zoology and psychology at Bristol University, and sailed the world on tall ships before moving to Australia to study science communication.

Simona Bojceska

Simona is the founder of an immersive EdTech venture focused on making STEAM education more engaging and accessible through game-based learning and emerging technologies. With a background in Computational Design and a Master’s in Visualisation, Simulation and Immersive Technologies from UNSW, she has delivered projects ranging from flying racing car simulators to AR/VR experiences and interactive media that support education and innovation across various industries.

A committed lifelong learner, Simona is passionate about sharing knowledge through teaching, mentoring and community involvement. When she is not in front of the screens, she is usually at the beach and spending quality time with family and friends.

Eric Kind

Eric is a legal and public policy expert in technology, society and human rights and co-founder and Managing Director of AWO, a data rights law firm and consultancy. Eric has led coalitions of charities successfully reforming national security legislation, and placing export controls on surveillance technology. He was Counsel to Luminate advising Reset, the philanthropic social enterprise, and Operations Director at the Institute for the Future of Work where he supported the establishment of the organisation. Prior to that he was Deputy Director at Privacy International where he helped relaunch the organisation.

Adam Selinger

Adam is the Executive Director of Children’s Discovery and leads the team behind all of our activities. He has a post-graduate Science Communication degree from the Australian National University and over 25 years’ experience producing innovative science and technology educational events in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, the UAE and the UK. Adam represented Children’s Discovery in a partnership with the University of Wollongong that saw the development of the Early Start Discovery Space. It opened to the public on 20 May 2015. Adam is currently managing our national public library STEM initiative.
