What's On

Children's Discovery Museum Ltd is a not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to create a new interactive learning centre for children in Sydney. We stage activities, often in partnership with other organisations, at special events throughout Sydney and further afield. These unique learning experiences demonstrate our style for the Children's Discovery Museum.

Since 2002 over 100,000 people from all over Australia and beyond have experienced our immersion experiences, science & technology workshops, hands-on experiments and science shows.

Premiering at the Australian Science Festival, Canberra (17-21 Aug) was the newest and most adventuress interactive experience from the Children's Discovery team. A giant tummy complete with genuine sound effects, entry through the giant mouth and exit 'through the rear' delighted capacity crowds.

Our fantastic staff, Stephanie, Nic and Fiona staged 17 twenty-minute shows everyday to over 2000 eager participants of all sizes and shapes - everyone becoming a 'food item' ready for digestion. The dark interior of the tummy was perfect for our chat on healthy diet and why we need exercise to feel good and stay well. The tummy is ready and waiting to tour again....

ABC KIDS LIVE 16 - 18 JULY 2004

All of Children's Discovery came together under one roof!

Children's Discovery was voted the most popular activity feature with the older kids at ABC KIDS LIVE! and ranked very highly with the little ones too.

"Everyone raved about how wonderful it all was..", said Trish Powers for ABC Kids Live

Over three days hundreds of children and adults experienced building a house with Build It and excavated an archaeological site in Kids Dig.

Many also choose to experience MadLab and learnt to use a soldering iron to construct their own electronic gadget.

BIG SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY DAY OUT

Children's Discovery partnered with the Questacon Science Squad, CSIRO Education and the Department of Education to bring Big Science and Technology Day Out to western Sydney.

Aimed primarily at school students in Years 3 - 8, the activities included science shows by Questacon and technology workshops by CSIRO and MadLab. As well, Build It gave students the opportunity to experience house construction first-hand.

Supported by Uni of Western Sydney, TAFE NSW and NewScientist.
